Snake repellers are a very popular, solar-powered, electronic device used to deter snakes from entering your yard and home. The repellers work by emitting sound vibration into the ground at a frequency that snakes find very annoying. Using a snake repellent for yards and gardens is a popular and common form of defence against those unwanted reptiles. A lot of people don’t know that snakes are virtually deaf to noise travelling through the air such as when we speak out loud. Instead they pick up ‘noise’ as a form of vibrations through the earth. This is why you’ll often hear people say to make lots of noise and stamp your feet if walking through long grass.

IS IT GUARANTEED TO WORK?

Unfortunately no. We cannot offer a guarantee that putting solar snake repellers in your yard is going to 100% rid you of snakes. Now, before you click the back button let me tell you how they can work and how to get the full effect of a snake repellent.

First of all you should follow our tips on keeping snakes away. These include cleaning up the yard, removing potential food sources for the snake, and some other very useful information.

Next, the placement of the units around your yard is also important. They should be spaced out evenly and at most, 30 metres apart to ensure some overlap. The solar repellers also need to be placed in a location to receive maximum sunlight. Remember, if they aren’t getting sunlight, they aren’t going to work!

Lastly, and this isn’t directly related to the devices themselves, look into other types of snake deterrents such as:

  • Snake Traps
  • Snake proof fences
  • Snake Repellent Spray

Now, as you’ve no doubt realised, there is no clear cut answer to this question. We have received a lot of positive feedback about the repellers and we have also heard reports of them not working as they should.
